Situated in the centre of Basel's Old Town, on the historic Schmiedenhof square, we offer a wide range of choices. All of this in a beautiful, urban setting with plenty of retro appeal.

This inclueds a wide range of coffees inspired by modern Viennese coffee-house culture. We also serve a choice of innovative salads and baguettes, as well as a simple dish of the day at lunchtime. From the available baguette and salad options, guests can create their own baguettes or salad just the way they like it, or choose from one of the classics. We are also known for our 1777-burger and our pastrami-sandwich.

In the evening we offer a bar service with a fine selection of wine, cheese and meat. Our salad and baguette options as well as the 1777-burger and the pastrami-sandwich are available all day.

We are open on mondays, tuesday and wednesday from 09.00 to 20.00 and on thursday, friday and saturday from 09.00 to 23.00.

Bar had a nice atmosphere for families, groups, couples, anything really. Lots of drink choices & reasonably priced. If you’re in Basel, go!

This is a great place to dine as well as enjoy a glass of wine. Absolutely fun atmosphere and we highly recommend.

Our waiter happened to be English and recommended some excellent excursions for our weekend.

Well worth heading here for a relaxed meal and a drink.
