Coffee Art for Beginners

Opening of a typical Viennese coffee house in the old Villa Roßmann in the Kurfürstenstraße and the beginning of the EINSTEIN COFFEE history. The Austrian founder Uschi Bachauer brings the free spirit to the Café Einstein Stammhaus and organizes weekly concerts with the avant-garde of the new music scene.

The legendary Viennese coffee blend is developed, which will significantly influence the success of EINSTEIN KAFFEE.

The original site on Kurfürstenstraße becomes an institution known for the best blend in the city. Notable people come and celebrate the finest combination of the flair of the old days and the Berliner avant-garde. Roasting takes place in the in-house roastery in Moabit.

The second Einstein Café opens on Unter den Linden. The owner, artist and art dealer Gerhard Uhlig, exhibits works of international photographers in his gallery next door. Thanks to the advantageous location across from the Bundestag, numerous politicians gather here.

The unique EINSTEIN KAFFEE house concept emerges. One of the first stores on Friedrichstraße 185-190 opens its doors and presents the unique combination of roasted coffee and regional salads and sandwiches.

The Einstein concept is awarded the Foodservice Prize from the German publishing group Fachverlag for outstanding accomplishments in brand and system gastronomy.

Cafés are opened consecutively on Savignyplatz, Gendarmenmarkt, Ku’damm, Nordbahnhof, on Friedrichstraße and at Checkpoint Charlie.

The first EINSTEIN KAFFEE opens in Potsdam and is one of the first cafés to offer a wide selection of breakfast fare and outdoor seating.

On Alexanderplatz another EINSTEIN KAFFEE sets up shop around the world clock. The newly opened café at the Central Station in Berlin provides passengers with coffee delights for their travels.

A new café at Savignyplatz opens in the Bücherbogen and combines coffee culture with literature.

A warm haven in the midst of Checkpoint Charlie tourist madness, Einstein Kaffee is a great place to kick back with a beer and catch up with old friends.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews, although we just visited for a quick coffee our experience was very nice. Great coffee, we also had a chia pudding with coconut and blueberries which was lovely. The WiFi works well and the staff were friendly. Would reccomend!

Small space but bright with light and has free wifi and great einspanners (coffee with whipped cream on top as a sort of "milk"). All the staff speak English, so you'll get help if you need it, bitte. :-)

This has been the worst service ever. I had been told that the place was quite nice and comfortable, so I went there with some friends and I really still cannot believe the way they treated us. It is as they were making us a favor for serving us. At the end, they didn't want to serve us and we had to go downstairs and ask for coffee and for the wifi access because the lady that was attending upstairs wouldn't of any of this. Horrible, I would never go back there and wouldn't recommend it.

We spent a week in Berlin this past October and Einstein's Kaffee (there are several in the Mitte) was a regular stop every day. Excellent cappuccino and ambience- Don't miss.

Finally! Coffee, as its meant to be. smooth, deep, creamy. None of that stiff shaving foam like froth here. This is more of a "Flat White" type coffee. The benches are very slim and not particularly comfortable, perhaps to discourage the lingerers from setting up shop with their lap top? No matter, best drink your coffee while its hot and move on. Sandwiches can be a bit hit and miss, I haven't tried the pastries but they don't look particularly inspiring.

Very easy and comfortable. I used to sit there a lot when I came to Berlin, and actually studied there most of my German. This branch is especially nice since it has many tourists and anyone can sit there and enjoy good coffee (not as good as Aroma down the street) and usually quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

Nice cafe. Like a lot of chains so not much new to write about. The service is good though and the wireless LAN is free (just ask for the password from the people working there). Sitting outside, you have some really good people watching available. I stay at the Westin right down the street regularly and as they charge for internet access, I always come here to grab a coffee and get work done in between meetings. Nice atmosphere inside as well. Only gripe is that their coffee tends to usually be good but I had one or two cups which were off. Not a major issue though.

It was a five minute walk from the hotel on our first night in Berlin. The goulash was superb, the apple strudel with vanilla sauce a sweet medley, and the server just right, never hurried. We returned three nights later for the white asparagus--and more. More

Well located not far from the Brandenburg Gate. Full of interesting old photos on the walls. Typical local menu, well-priced and large portions. Excellent steak tartare! Nice service and good choice in wines.

city's most expensive places to live. It is here the

oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence

of some significant transformations, as well. The

gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets

between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

designer clothes, the newest food trends and

frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers

have taken up residence in what used to be backyard

barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the

old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a

reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look

carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the

art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can

still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
