Pure and Natural Teas by Sonnentor
Relax with organic teas by Sonnentor. The sustainably produced tea and coffee are not only composed of organically grown and certified raw materials, they are also packed in compostable cellulose film, biodegradable tea bags made of corn starch and cardboard boxes that can be recycled. The products contain neither dyes nor artificial flavours or preservatives. The tea is processed by hand directly on the producers’ farms to ensure the highest quality possible and to allow the survival of small, sustainable organic farms.
Tea from Certified Organic Cultivation
In 1988 Johannes Gutmann founded Sonnentor to offer the farmers in his home region a platform for selling their herbs and tea blends. Due to this, even today the names of the respective farmers are printed on each Sonnentor product. The structure of small farming hast to be saved in order to avoid monocultures and preserve traditional, sustainable agriculture. The gentle drying at 40° Celsius allows the herbs and tea leaves to retain their delicate flavour. The special pyramid form of the tea bags contains relatively large leaves which make for more intense flavour of the tea due to the amount of essential oils that is preserved in the undestroyed leaves.
Direct Trade for Sustainable Coffee
Sonnentor’s coffee comes from Nicaragua and is purchased without intermediaries directly from the farmers at a fair price. The profits are used to provide training to the employees there and to improve the infrastructure so the processing can be carried out autonomously in the future. The coffee is available as both ground and whole beans coffee. Enjoy bursts of flavour with Sonnentor.

Am 4. Mai 2014 eröffnet SONNENTOR ein neues, köstliches Kapitel seiner Firmengeschichte und lädt die Besucher ein, sich auf eine kulinarische Entdeckungsreise zu begeben. Um die Gäste noch besser bewirten und verwöhnen zu können, baut SONNENTOR ein zeitgemäßes Bio-Gasthaus Leibspeis’ mit einem großen Teesalon Tee-Zeit im Kräuterdorf Sprögnitz.
In der „Tee-Zeit“ können die Besucher dort dann aus dem reichhaltigen Sortiment an hochwertigen Bio-Tees gustieren und sich Zeit nehmen zum Genießen. Regionale, nachhaltige, saisonale Gerichte werden in der Leibspeis’ angeboten. So möchte SONNENTOR seinen Gästen den Bio-Gedanken auch im Gastronomiebereich näher bringen.
Im neuen Seminarbereich wird Interessierten die Möglichkeit geboten, sich zu Themen wie Teegenuss, Kräuter, Gesundheit, Ernährung, Nachhaltigkeit und alternatives Wirtschaften zu informieren.
