TeaGschwendner Rockin’ Red Apple
"Apple cider in a cup. This tea was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy and creamy."
TeaGschwendner Smooth Strawberry Dream
"Congrats, TeaGschwendner - you've crafted a little slice of perfection."
TeaGschwender China Yin Zhen Silver Needles
"This is the kind of tea you could really grow to love, although not the tea you can afford to. At around 20 bucks (Yankee doodle) for 50g you have to have a fairly heavy wallet to enjoy this on a daily basis, but it could still have a place as an occasional splurge."
"The tea is light and soothing; perfect for a midday pick-me-up as it leaves you feeling fresh and rejuvenated."
"The fragrance is soft and flowery rather than vegetal. It smells clean like a cool, spring rain."
"There is no bitterness at all to this tea. It is full of flavors but requires patience to taste them."
TeaGschwendner Darjeeling Risheehat 2nd Flush SFTGFOP1
"This beautiful Risheehat Estate tea's characteristic Darjeeling sharpness really pops, when it's allowed to rest awhile to develop its flavors before drinking."
TeaGschwendner Rooibush Cream Caramel
"In my quest for a good caramel tea, TeaGschwendner comes shining through with this perfect marriage of Rooibos leaves and sweet caramel flavor that's a real winner. Finally!"
"This tea was rich and decadent with a pleasant aftertaste. The flavoring was not overpowering to the rooibos base but was just enough to complement it."
"The caramel is mellowed by the rooibos so the effect is warm and comforting. This tastes like someone put a very high quality caramel in liquid form, no fake sugary flavors, just smooth and rich."
"TeaGschwendner's version smells delightfully sweet and creamy and almost what I would describe as toasty."
"TeaGschwendner's Rooibush Cream Caramel is a creamy and delicious cup. I loved every last drop!"
TeaGschwendner Darjeeling No.9 Himalaya First Flush
"This tea was sweet, floral and woodsy with a dry finish to each sip."
TeaGschwendner China Lung Ching
"When properly steeped, the TeaGschwendner Lung Ching (Long Jing) is predictably lovely: a tawny-gold color with a lot of fragrance. "
"Two infusions are excellent and the second infusion benefits from additional time. I brewed the leaves for a third time to make sure every bit of flavor was extracted. It was a bit thin but flavorful."
"The flavor is really that of the darker richer vegetables, but with the sweet and bitter on the sides."
TeaGschwendner Strawberry White Tea
"This tea was simply wonderful. It was obvious that the white tea used was of a very high quality. The strawberry and the taste of the white tea complement each other so well."
"The body was fuller then I had expected. There was an abundance of strawberry taste with a delicate white tea flavor."
"The tea has a wonderful white tea base. Clearly this is a very high quality tea. White tea has a delicate flavor that makes a nice compliment to many flavors. The strawberry flavoring is a wonderful compliment to white tea."
"The white tea used was a perfect base as it in no way overwhelms the strawberry flavor but adds a smooth and subtle finish. "
"I can't even ease into how good this Strawberry White Organic tea is--just fantastic. a perfect union of white tea and strawberries."
TeaGschwendner China Pai Mu Tan
"Typical of my taste in shoes, handbags, etc. I do prefer the more expensive Fancy White Peony. However, you can't go wrong with this."
"This is a far more robust white tea, that still manages not to break the basic tenants of what defines white tea. Its richly, but not overbearingly, green."
"My first sip was enough to make me realize that the reason I had previously thought I preferred flavored white teas was because until now I had never tasted a really amazing white tea."
TeaGschwendner Darjeeling FTGFOP1 Phuguri
"It's one of those teas that I drink with my eyes closed, and which I need to return to over and over again. If TeaGschwendner ever stops selling it, I'll have to move to India."
"This is absolutely the best Darjeeling I have tasted and deserves its title as the champagne of teas. This truly is the darling of the second flush."
"More importantly, however, this strange blend of seemingly disparate flavor elements all come together to produce a crisp and refreshing cup of tea."
"I think this is one of my favorite Darjeelings and I can see that they don’t call it the champagne of teas for nothing."
"The taste is that smooth, sweet and floral. As this tea cools, I can also sense a sweet spiciness that compliments the floral undertones."
TeaGschwendner Cream Caramel Decaf
"This is truly a fine example of the elegance that a caramel black tea SHOULD be. Kudos, TeaGschwendner!"
TeaGschwendner Enlightenment
"This caffeine-free herbal chai exceeds all expectations for a tea-less tea; it is a fine evening tea for either rooibos or chai drinkers."
"What a wonderful rich, smooth, silky and luxurious taste. "
TeaGschwendner Green Coconut
"The tea was delicious and for a coconut lover it was nothing short of heavenly."
"I sipped it when it was still quite hot and the initial taste was primarily that of green tea with a coconut aftertaste. The coconut flavor became more pronounced as the tea cooled and it tasted very natural to my palate."
"I'm very pleased with this tea, as it has a light, fresh scent and taste that is surprisingly natural and clean. "
TeaGschwendner Yellow Peach
"The tea base and flavor profile combine deliciously to provide a delicate yet refreshing cup of peach deliciousness."
"It’s a noteworthy tea worth trying. "
"The taste is very fresh and sweet at the beginning of the sip, but finishes with a slight tartness that lingers on the tongue after swallowing. It evokes memories of that first bite of a fresh, juicy peach on a warm summer's day."
"This tea definitely had the peach flavor, but lacked the natural sweetness I was hoping for. "
"The peach taste was more subdued in "real life" than in the nose, which worked out beautifully. Strong and clear, but not overwhelming and definitely not artificial in taste. "
TeaGschwendner Rooibush Strawberry Cream
"The liquor brewed quite well; redness going to work as soon as water hits herb, ruby-like when done. It smelled almost like a heated yet mild dessert port wine."
"This is one of the best fruit-flavored teas out there, and also one of the best Rooibos blends to cross this palette."
"Sometimes the combination of strawberry and cream can seem a little fake, but this was done right."
"This is a rooibus of strong quality blended smoothly with its creamy counterpart. It is quite good."
TeaGschwendner Japan Tamaryokucha
"Distinct astringency, bitterness, ocean flavors and other less describable umami elements which characterize some green teas are all rather muted in this tea - or play together so well that they do not stand out on their own."
"It was very balanced and soothing, the perfect cup for relaxing."
"The infusion turned bright green almost instantaneously, much like Japanese teas of hither and "yawn". However, it didn't have the same fluorescent (read: radioactive) intensity in the color. That was fine by me."
"I am quite pleased with this blend and I believe that green tea drinkers will enjoy it even more than I did."
TeaGschwendner Bossa Nova
"It has an AMAZING hazelnut flavor that is complemented by what I am guessing is a fairly nutty oolong."
"Bossa Nova's aroma is nothing short of delightful! There is a creamy sweetness to the aroma that reminds me of a milk oolong and caramel. "
"This tea is sweet and calming and contains a unique blend of flavours."
"Some of the most perfectly-balanced hazelnut flavors I have ever tasted in a cup."
TeaGschwendner Assam Marangi
"While Assam Marangi is tasty in a travel mug on the way to work, it really deserves to be savored in a proper tea cup! This tea is delicious alone, but is nothing short of delightful with a bit of cream and sugar!"
"True assam lovers will probably appreciate this blend more than I. I don't know that I will drink assam regularly as the astringency was a tad much for my wimpy taste buds, but I love that it reminds me of dark beer!"
"Upon my first sip of this tea, my immediate impression was that it was tart; however, this proved to not be the case. This tea had an interesting effect on me-the more I tried it, the more I liked it!"
"This tea starts out with heavy malty notes, but then also offers some strong fruity endnotes, almost as if it were a Darjeeling on steroids (and I mean that as positively as can be for a steroid accusation)."
"It was good iced but got dulled down after putting milk and sugar in it. I would recommend this to those who like malty, more astringent teas."
TeaGschwendner Earl Grey No. 69
"The TeaGschwendner website notes that they've been liberal with the usage of a first rate oil, and I think you will agree with them, too. "
"A great tasting Earl Grey, that's good iced, too."
TeaGschwendner North India Manjhee Valley First Flush
"This tea was compelling but I struggle to describe exactly how it tastes. The description on TeaGschwendener’s website probably sums it up the best, “bright and vegetal with slightly sour notes of wet stoneâ€Â."
"What a curious taste! This tea brews up with a strong earthiness, and the taste of the tea is at once sweet, and somewhat salty in a seaweedy sense, with a distinct smokiness to it."
TeaGschwendner China Fancy Oolong
"For a cup with no cinnamon added, this has a very strong cinnamon taste with sweet (summer fruits?) and woody undertones. "
"This is a wonderful oolong, featuring pleasant flavor and texture and evolving over the course of the cup. This is ideal for any afternoon."
Teagschwendner Pineapple Mango
"This truly tastes like someone actually poured some tropical fruit juice into the beverage when sweetened a bit. From the standpoint of getting a natural tasting pineapple-mango flavor, this is spot on."
"The taste was that of a classic black tea perfectly complimented by the tartness of the fruit. It was refreshing and light, a perfect desert tea."
TeaGschwendner Anna's
"My tea of choice is generally flavored black teas, and they are all about perfect balance without being underwhelming or overbearing. Anna's is a fine example of just that."
"The raspberry flavor is tart, but not exceedingly so, and while the characteristic raspberry tartness is undoubtedly present, the overall impression is a smooth and sweet cup of tea. This blend maintained an authentic raspberry flavor rather than some artificially and syrupy berry flavor "
"This is a prime of example of what I love about TeaGschwendner in that they take something basic and just do it right."
TeaGschwendner Rooibush Chocolate
"The redeeming quality of this cup is the lingering cocoa flavor that sticks around for a bit and doesn't taste fake."
"This is an honest tea. Envision a blend of rooibush and chocolate and you'll be extremely close to the reality."
"It tastes very much as if a piece of chocolate was melted in my cup of tea. Although it is nothing spectacular, this is a tasty tea who's flavor is true to its name. "
"The rooibush provides a wonderful sweet creaminess that corresponds winningly with chocolate's many virtues. "
TeaGschwendner China Fancy White Peony
"This tea has the soft tones of flowers, and strawberries, all wrapped in mild vegetable flavors, like the slight aftertaste of broccoli soup, or asparagus before the aftertaste."
"According to TeaGschwendner, this is a “new style†Chinese White Tea from the Fujian Province. It is created by plucking of the bud and first leaf in late March . "
"The tea itself is very lightly scented; I can barely detect anything until I'm about to take a sip, and then it's a faint, warming floral. The tea has a medium body and tastes fairly plain."
"This is a striking white tea with strong and clear taste. This makes a very nice morning cup with its flavor and body. This will become a favorite non-flavored white tea."
"The taste is very mild and delicate. This tea requires careful steeping to get the flavors to peak. "
TeaGschwendner Strawberry Vanilla
"To the taste, this was one of the rare cases where I'd say the green tea and strawberry flavors are fairly harmonious."
"You have to try this, unless you hate strawberries. If you do happen to hate strawberries you're missing out on some good stuff here."
"The vanilla is less noticeable and it mostly just offers a warm undertone that complements the strawberry nicely."
TeaGschwendner Summer Romance
"Summer Romance was the perfect name for this summery blend. You can taste hints of strawberries and a slight undertone of vanilla."
"This brewed to a beautiful berry red color and the aroma made the whole kitchen smell like berries, bringing back memories of canning berry preserves with my grandmother."
TeaGschwendner Coconut White Tea
"Fans of coconut-flavored teas (or white tea in general) should definitely give this a try."
TeaGschwendner Formosa Fancy Superior Oolong Taifu
"This was a very surprising and delicious cup."
"While expecting a heady and hearty brew, I instead was met with a very light-bodied cup of tea. The mild flavor was sweet and smoky, but lacked oomph. "
"The flavor is delightful and the texture is pleasing, but it always dances away too soon, like the salty tease of an ocean rain."
TeaGschwendner Japan Sencha Extra Fine
"One of the softest green teas I've come across, the myriad of flavors blends together smoothly to create a fine cup of tea."
"The tea is not really grassy and not toasty at all in a genmaicha like way, but has a wholesome green grainy taste that I can't help but love. "
TeaGschwendner Indian Chai
". the tea seemed very light, almost to the point of being weak."
"Although I had to alter the proportions to find it, this is a tea with emotion and interest."
"A masterful balance of flavors and spices - one of the most enjoyable Spiced Chai blends I've encountered."
TeaGschwendner Pitta
"Contrary to my initial wariness, I think this is balanced, smooth, and very tasty. Herbal tea lovers will most likely enjoy this."
" This tea isn't just to soothe a cold, it's well-rounded and would make a good cup of tea whenever you need to wind down. The minty spice and touch of raspberry are perfect to end any day."
"The herbs were a beautiful mix of root chunks, grassish leaves, mint leaf fragments, and bits of flowers. It tasted exactly like it looked, namely like lemongrass, with a refreshing twist from the mint, and a flowery softening of the edges."
"This tea offers a really smooth herbal experience. The mint and lemongrass are delicately balanced so that you actually get to taste each distinct flavor, without one becoming the dominant flavor."
"It steeps up to pretty lemon color and smells mostly like lemons and mint. When the brew was hot, I would say that it mostly just tasted fresh--like a lemon flavored mint."
TeaGschwendner Cranberry Mango
"While it's a good flavoured green, this hasn't been a particularly memorable experience."
"Although this still presents itself as a tea, its flavor borders on that of a home-conconcted punch. I would recommend it for those seeking fruit-heavy teas."
"I allowed the first infusion to steep for 1 minute and found that this is not a green tea blend that forgets it is a green tea first and foremost."
TeaGschwendner South India White Oothu
"A little sweetener enhances the ocean flavor measurably, which is so fresh, delicious and rather unique for a white tea, and bulks out the sweetness of the tea leaves in a way I enjoy very much."
"Exotic, intriguing, evocative, and a good bargain."
TeaGschwendner Assam Ananda
"A basic Assam that doesn't leave much of an impression - good or bad."
"This is no wimpy tea, but just when you think it is heading into tannic bitterness it settles into deep and gentle sweetness, without sacrificing any of its stand up character."
"My personal preference would lean towards the Assam Marangi, but at about 50% of the cost, Assam Ananda is a much more economic version to have on hand for everyday enjoyment."
"This seems a proper Assam, though not amazing."
"A gorgeous dark copper color greeted me, with a fine malty scent, a little bit toasty and wholly lively."
TeaGschwendner Caramel
"Overall, if you are looking for a caramel black tea, then this isn't a bad choice. It is rich, tasty and dessert-like. However, if you are looking for a great caramel flavored blend, then I would pick up the Caramel Cream Rooibush."
"I do love caramel flavor, but for some reason I have yet to taste a caramel tea that is any good. Even this one."
"It probably is not one that I would drink on a daily basis, but for those times when you are in the mood for a tea to help satisfy a sweet tooth, this would be an amazing one to have on hand."
"I found the caramel flavor very interesting; while the flavor was mostly what I expected, there was this underlying hint of a coffee flavor to it. This tea really satisfies because it is so strong. However, because the tea base and the flavors are both strong, you will want to be certain to avoid over-infusing this blend"
TeaGschwendner Japan Gyokuro
"The brewed tea was true to its aroma; the primary flavors were grassy and springy, and there was a bit of astringency to the tea. To me, the first sip seemed harsh, but once I adjusted to the tinge of bitterness, I began to really enjoy this tea."
"The light body masks a very strong, almost bitter taste that isn't as smooth as I'd like. For this kind of strength, I'd expect flavors with more depth to balance it out."
TeaGschwendner Goji Berry
"I'm not sure if it is the goji berry, the lemongrass or both, but something in here makes this cup particularly interesting and tasty."
"While fun to look at, regrettably this eclectic combination does not result in a great tasting drink."
"This tea's flavor is interesting, but probably more so due to the combination of berry and lemongrass flavors than to the goji berries alone. I found this to be a uniquely blended tea worth trying, but it loses points for being rather light-bodied."
TeaGschwendner Coconut White
"As a hot beverage, the coconut was very pronounced and had a pleasant, natural taste."
"I'm not exactly sure what happened with this tea. I guess when I really thought about it, in the end I just didn't like the flavour."
"There is a sweet sense of the tropics to the aroma. The coconut taste reminds me of the juice (or water) of young coconuts."
"This is the first TeaGschwendner tea that has rated very low for me. As a coconut tea, this tea is disappointing and unfortunately the white tea base is not satisfying enough to redeem this as an unflavored white tea. "
TeaGschwendner Vata
"This tastes rugged and loose. The two pumpkin pie spice components are too strong."
"Drinking this tea is a comforting experience and it tastes like it is good for you. "
TeaGschwendner Rooibush Ginger
"Give it a try if you must, but I'd recommend looking elsewhere."
"This is a fair choice for something different. It offers a different experience for this type of tea, whether the core target is rooibus or ginger."
"If ginger is your thing, and you love it as simply as possible, you may love this blend, but it isn't quite all I had hoped for."
TeaGschwendner Le Touareg
"A traditional North African blend of China gunpowder and peppermint oil that is interesting, but "needs" sugar to truly be enjoyable."
TeaGschwendner Blood Orange
"Overall, if you enjoy citrus flavors, you would probably really like this. "
"For tea sippers lusting for a thick taste of orange, this is ideal. For the rest of us, it's okay."
TeaGschwendner China Wuyuan Jasmine
"The scenting of the tea was just right weight wise in order to be able to taste the tea along with the flower, but the base tea seemed to be lacking in taste qualities to make it a really interesting backdrop for the jasmine."
TeaGschwendner Le Toureg
"This is as far as one can go into the realm of peppermint without merely eating peppermints."

Tee Gschwendner Ice Tea Review

Ice Tea Schwarzkirsche BIO
Zutaten : Wasser, Agavendicksaft, starker Früchtetee-Aufguss (Wasser, Apfelstücke, Hibiskus, Hagebutten), schwarzer Johannisbeersaft (2%), Brombeersaft (2%), Zitronensaft, Himbeersaft (1%), natürliches Aroma.
Diese Variante riecht echt lecker beerig. Ist nicht zu süß, sondern erfrischend. Sehr lecker.
Ice Tea Rooitea Mango-Passionsfrucht
Zutaten : Wasser, Agavendicksaft, Mangosaft (4%), starker Rooitea-Aufguss (Wasser, Rooitea), Passionsfruchtsaft (1%), natürliches Aroma, Zitronensaft, Gerstenmalzextrakt.
Der Geschmack ist angenehm, mild fruchtig.
Süß? Sauer? Herb? Erfrischend? Genau! All das findet Ihr in dieser köstlichen Kombi.
Zutaten : Wasser, Agavendicksaft, Grapefruitsaft (3%), Apfelsaft (2%), starker Tee-Aufguss (Wasser, Schwarztee), Zitronensaft, natürliches Aroma.

TeeGschwendner: Formosa Fancy Superior Oolong Taifu

Premium coffees in Brazil, for example mochas and distinctive lattes with liquor are not cheap in Brazil. They scale from R$ 4,00 to R$ 9,50 (about US$ 2.00 to US$ 5.00). These prices are for a a whole lot smaller cup of coffee than the ones Americans are accustomed to. They're smaller than a small (tall) latte. Nonetheless, Brazilian coffee is tasty and bold, and is consumed during the day, all the time in small cups. Coffee houses supply some pastries and sandwiches as well. various bakeries and even bars (botecos, botequins) will hold coffee with cream at any moment through the day and the evening. Brewed coffee with milk and a minute French baghette with butter is the most usual breakfast meal provided in various pub/coffee house in the country.

Tee Gschwendner branches in Saudi Arabia
I talked about Tea Gschwendner (Tee Gschwendner) before. But I will take the time to list all the branches with Gowalla links in Saudi Arabia for easy reference.
One important note that Fahad reminded me on Twitter: ” اذا بغيتوا تشترون من تي جشفندر لاتاخذون كلام البائع كله اعرف وش تبي قبل :)واذا نويت تجرب جرب كميات قليلة”. If you wanted to buy from Tee Gschwendner do not believe whatever the salesman said, you should know what you want and if you want to try something just buy in small quantities (100g, 50g). Yes, I agree with Fahad completely.
Come on, Jeddah and Dhahran friends, use Gowalla and add these shopping centers to the map.

Tea Gschwendner reviews part 1
I decided to buy Tee Gschwendner’s World Tea Championship Sampler. I bought them from the United States and shipped here using myus or other forwarding services. You can buy from their stores located in Riyadh and other cities in Saudi Arabia.
Here are what I think of each sample so far:
No. 705 Japan Sencha Extra Fine: a typical Japanese green tea, not to be confused with the Matcha. Good taste, not bitter at all. I give it 5 out of 5.
No. 233 Darjeeling Soom First Flush, Air Freighted: This is not part of the sampler though. Black Tea. Although it’s black tea the leafs are very green and the color of the tea itself is light compared to other black tea. The smell is different, very fresh. It tastes flowery with little bitterness. I give it 3 out of 5.
No. 988 Pineapple Mango: Black tea with pineapple and mango pieces as well as rose and mallow blossoms. Yet it’s bitter. Average taste but I am not a Mango fan. I give it 2 out of 5.
No. 1444 Summer Romance: Tea is made from the Camellia sinensis plant. If it is not from that plant then it is not really considered tea. Therefor Summer Romance is not tea. It includes Apples, hibiscus, rose, elderberries, raspberry, strawberry and vanilla! Very sweet and you can either have it alone or add tea with it. 3 out of 5.
No. 780 Indian Chai: No need to add milk here, although they suggest it. With cinnamon and cardamom this tea is good. 3 out of 5.
How I rate: if it’s over 1 then it’s good. I will only give 1 to something that is very bad and I will not buy again, ever! More reviews coming soon!

Buy tea online: Adagio and Tea Gschwendner
Sometimes you will probably not find the tea that you want at any of the local “Tea Gschwendner” branches in Saudi Arabia. You might find the tea that you want but discover that it is much cheaper online!
I will talk about two online tea stores online, the first is Tea Gschwendner’s, they offer a wide selection of teas. Their prices on most items is almost the same as the Saudi Arabia branch. But sometimes you will find something that’s overpriced in Saudi Arabia ($60 compared to $30 online). You could make the order and ship it using myus or Aramex.
The other store is Adagio, they have a variety of teas as well. They can ship internationally or to your myus or aramex account.
Another good site that I recommend is Teaviews which is a dedicated tea review website! They have sections for Tea Gschwendner and Adagio. They also list many online stores that I will probably try soon.

Tea Gschwendner in Saudi Arabia
It’s about time I mention “Tea Gschwendner”, also known as “Tee Gschwendner” or “Tea Merchant”. Tea Gschwendner is a German chain of tea merchants, probably the best in the world.
Luckily they opened in Saudi Arabia a few years ago. Their Riyadh branches are located at: Kingdom Center, Centeria Center and Hayat Mall. As usual with Saudi Arabia websites, you can’t find them. So I had to use google maps!
The problem with Tea Gschwendner in Saudi Arabia: Excellent product, bad salesmen! Most of them have no idea what they are selling! Makes me wonder if they have any training at all. So my advice is to research the tea online first before going to their store. Otherwise, excellent tea and good prices! My recommendation: Oolong tea number 625. Go and give it a try!
Update: Tea Gschwendner also have a branch is Hyper Panda, Riyadh. We need better Saudi maps on google maps!
