Extension OF A HIGH-RACK Warehouse

Modern outlets need to present different kinds of coffee, a large variety of blends and highly attractive packaging on their shelves if they are to be competitive. To prevent gaps in the inventory, high-performance automated packaging lines can guarantee flexibility and are able to supply stock at all times. For the optimisation of these procedures, measures had to be taken to solve a shortage of space. Specifically, it was urgent to increase storage capacity. Another task, however, had an even higher priority:

A new system of internal transportation

This was meant to facilitate and accelerate the work. In addition to the expansion of the existing high-rack warehouse by an additional 3,000 pallet storage spaces, a new area had to be created for the receipt of goods with a loading bay, offices and laboratories. The comprehensive conveyer system was integrated into the planning from the very beginning. Moreover, it was important to adjust the entire building to suit the automated transportation of goods in future. A further main emphasis of the project was placed on preventative fire protection. From the fitting of fire-resistant doors to the complete installation of a new fire sprinkler system, everything possible had to be done to prevent the risk of fire, thereby increasing the safety of the building.

Die Deutsche Extrakt Kaffee GmbH ist ein großer Pulverkaffeeproduzent für Eigenmarken vieler Firmen.

Tchibo Express Kaffee,

Geschichte

1955 trafen sich die führenden Herren des deutschen Kaffeegeschäfts und sprachen über die Zukunft des Kaffeemarktes: Walther J. Jacobs (Jacobs Kaffee), Max Herz (Tchibo), Rolf Schopf (Eduscho) und Bernhard Rothfos.

Die DEK wurde noch im gleichem Jahr in Hamburg gegründet und ist der einzige Familienbetrieb zur Herstellung und Verarbeitung von löslichem Kaffee.

Die DEK packt ab und vertreibt den löslichen Kaffee unter Handelsmarken an Großabnehmer.

1957 konnte man das Werk Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg in Betrieb nehmen. Produziert wird auch in Berlin und Lüttich.

Alle drei Betriebe sind seit 1982 in einer Holding von Jan Beernd Rothfos zusammengefaßt.

Die DEK ist eine Tochtergesellschaft der Kord KG, die Ende 2007 in Cafea GmbH umfirmiert wurde.

Zu Pulverkaffee können geringwertige Kaffeesorten und Bruchbohnen verarbeitet werden. Da die subtilen Aromastoffe hochwertiger Gewächse bei der Extraktion verlorengehen, werden teure Sorten kaum verwendet. Quelle: DER SPIEGEL 42/1962 - Heiß wie die Hölle

Die DEK stellt heute noch Pulverkaffee in gefriergetrockneter und koffeinfreier Form für Tchibo her.
